This book essentially summarizes the development processes of politics, economy, diplomacy, and society in Latin America over the past half-century, reflecting the dynamic and hot issues of the time from different perspectives. It serves as a window for the academic community to understand and study Latin America, through which readers can form a basic judgment of Latin America's development trajectory over the past half-century.
This book essentially describes the general outline of Chinese Latin American studies over the past half-century: it includes macro-level research on the historical panorama of "independence and liberation of Afro-Asian-Latin American countries" in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as ideological explorations during the heyday of socio-economic thought in the 1970s. It features detailed analyses of major global events such as the Latin American debt crisis in the 1980s, as well as research and analysis of the world-shaking financial crises that occurred in the 1990s and the early 21st century. It encompasses nearly half a century of research results on the long-term tracking of Cuban socialism, as well as comparative analyses of Latin American development models and East Asian development models.
In short, this book is a microcosm of Chinese Latin American studies over the past half-century, an original record of "Latin America Studies in China," and a historical archive of several generations of scholars at the Latin America Research Institute.
