Features: Su Yu was a military genius who grew up amidst the flames of the Chinese People's revolutionary wars and anti-invasion conflicts, through the heroic struggles of the Party and the people. He made unique contributions to the victory of the Chinese revolution and anti-invasion wars, as well as the enrichment and development of Mao Zedong's military thought. He not only achieved remarkable military exploits but also made theoretical contributions; his achievements were glorious, and his moral character was high. He embodied the virtues of moral integrity, meritorious deeds, and scholarly contributions, holding an important place in both Chinese and world military history. Jiang Zemin, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, praised Su Yu for his "unconventional military command skills and the creative application of Mao Zedong's military thought." This book records the life journey of the subject in the form of a chronology, particularly recreating his growth from a young student to a Marshal of the People's Republic of China, his calmness in times of turning points, his broad-mindedness in serving the public, his perseverance in the face of adversity, his unwavering conviction, his scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts, his revolutionary learning style of combining theory with practice, and his approachable leadership style. Many valuable historical materials are published for the first time. During the process of writing The Biography of Su Yu, we had planned to compile The Chronology of Su Yu and publish it simultaneously. However, due to time constraints and other reasons, it was not realized. After the publication of The Biography of Su Yu, we began the work of compiling The Chronology of Su Yu. Based on the Chronology of Su Yu compiled by Zhu Ying in the early 1990s and the chronological table attached to The Biography of Su Yu in 2000, we further collected a batch of Su Yu's documents and activity materials. After years of writing, repeated revisions, and careful consideration, this manuscript was formed. It should be noted that: (1) All documents and events included in the chronology are based on original materials and authoritative publications, and necessary research has been conducted to correct certain inaccuracies in the history of the Party and the army and in memoirs. (2) For all events and documents involving Su Yu, including enemies and friends, domestic and foreign, superiors and subordinates, and colleagues, an objective record is adopted to reflect the truth and full picture of history. For documents that should have been included but could not be found, they are noted one by one for future reference.
