Features: The author Liao Shuhua and her companions, Xiumei, Zhou Li, and others, have previously studied natural dyeing with us and share a strong interest in fiber-related crafts. Although our discussions primarily focused on the exploration and application of color, the creative process of craft inherently cannot be separated from form, color material, techniques, development history, and application functions. Therefore, we often unintentionally ventured into interdisciplinary discussions. I know that Liao Shuhua and her companions are experts in the field of knotting art and have made many remarkable contributions to the research and inheritance of techniques. In the face of traditional knotting art, I am fully aware of my limited role—only capable of serving as a cheerleader. To avoid being too marginalized, I decided to bring them into my more familiar domain, using language that is easily understandable to the general public, to discuss topics such as form, proportion, line, color matching, texture, and surface texture, which are inevitably encountered in applied art beyond "professional craftsmanship." This book is a collection of gemstone necklaces, including content such as 4-strand braiding and 8-strand braiding computer drawing tutorials, as well as demonstrations of 8-strand braided bead.
