Features: The relationship between Europe and America is a central theme in modern and contemporary international relations. Accurately grasping the trajectory of the European-American relationship is a key to understanding international politics from the Cold War to the 21st century. During the Cold War, cooperation was the dominant note in European-American relations, with most contradictions and conflicts between the two sides remaining in a latent state due to the US-Soviet confrontation. Since the end of the Cold War, especially after the rise of the European Union as a silent force, the contradictions and conflicts between Europe and America have become more prominent, and the rift between them has become a persistent obstacle to establishing a new transatlantic community. Of course, the cooperation and conflicts between Europe and America also provide a more realistic diplomatic policy space for China, which is committed to a path of peaceful development. Without a doubt, the European-American relationship is one of the most important bilateral relationships since the Cold War and in the 21st century. The research object of this book is the relationship between Europe and America since the end of the Cold War, including both the relationship between the European Community (EU) as a whole and the United States, as well as the relationship between the EU member states, especially the major European powers such as Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, and the United States. Its complexity is thus evident, and it is provided for readers to read.
