Features: In June 2006, the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Reforming the Initial Examination Subjects of Some Disciplines for the Unified Entrance Examination for Master's Degree in 2007" (Teaching [2006] No. 9) proposed that the initial examination subjects and content for the three disciplines of Education, History, and Medicine would be adjusted in 2007. The initial examination subjects would be reduced from four to three, namely: Political Theory, Foreign Language, and Professional Foundation Comprehensive. The scope of the Professional Foundation Comprehensive would be moderately expanded compared to the original two professional courses. Under these three disciplines, in addition to some disciplines and majors where the Professional Foundation Comprehensive was jointly set by universities or self-set, the Professional Foundation Comprehensive subjects for the three first-level disciplines of Education, Psychology, and History under the Education and History disciplines were uniformly set by the national level. For the Medicine discipline, the Professional Foundation Comprehensive subjects of some disciplines and majors still followed the unified setting of Western Medicine Comprehensive or Traditional Chinese Medicine Comprehensive. According to the reform requirements, the scope of examination for Western Medicine Comprehensive and Traditional Chinese Medicine Comprehensive was also expanded. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Comprehensive covered Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnostics, Chinese Materia Medica, Formulas, Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Acupuncture and Moxibustion, with Acupuncture and Moxibustion being the newly added content. The Western Medicine Comprehensive covered Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Internal Medicine (including Diagnostics), and Surgery, with Diagnostics added to Internal Medicine.
