A Cat Who Lives in a Tree
Old Cat sat like a statue at the corner of the wall, guarding the mouse hole. "Splash!" A basin of cold water was poured over the old cat. "That's outrageous! I don't want a cold shower!" The old cat forgot about catching mice and started shouting loudly in the dark. The one who caused trouble was the little yellow sparrow living in the tree. He knocked over a basin of water, trying to apologize to the old cat, but seeing the old cat's grumpy demeanor, heed back. The old cat was soaked to the bone, so he arched his back, curled his tail, and muttered about heading home for a bath.
The old cat opened a bottle of shower gel and poured it all into the bathtub. Ten minutes later, the old cat's bathroom was filled with colorful bubbles. The bubbles drifted from the bathroom into the living room, then into the kitchen, and finally out through the chimney. "Old Cat's chimney wasing bubbles—what kind of magic was he playing?" Everyone was amazed.
The old cat lay in the bubbling bathtub, only revealing his cat head and half his tail, looking extremely comfortable. The bubbles kept multiplying, filling the old cat's entire house. All the bubbles worked together, pushing the house upward. The little yellow sparrow, watching from the tree, thought: "I should help the old cat. This is my way of apologizing." He gathered many bird friends and pushed and pulled, eventually pushing the house into the tree where the little yellow sparrow lived, wedging it between the branches. The house finally stopped flying.
"Great! From now on, I'll live in the tree," the old cat said. At night, the old cat stayed in the tree, gazing at the sky. He felt especially close to the stars and had already forgotten the unpleasantness of the morning. P1-2
