To promote the adoption of international standards and foreign advanced standards, facilitate the construction of China's socialist market economy, and enable enterprises, research institutions, educational organizations, and standardization authorities to promptly find and apply advanced foreign standards, we will compile and publish catalogs of standards from developed countries and important academic and association standards based on foreign standard information data. This catalog is the German National Standard catalog, which includes German national standard information up to the end of May 2005. The main body of the catalog is organized according to the Chinese Standard Classification System, followed by a standard number index. To help readers understand the consistency between standards, the consistency relationships between DIN standards and Chinese national standards (GB), ISO standards, IEC standards, EN standards, and other standards are attached to the standard entries, using the following consistency symbols: "IDT" for identical, "EQV" for equivalent, "NEQ" for non-equivalent, "REF" for reference, and "MOD" for modified. Given that there are very few Chinese national standards that directly adopt German standards, but many that indirectly adopt German standards (i.e., Chinese national standards that adopt or reference ISO, IEC standards, which in turn adopt or reference DIN standards), it should be noted that the national standards listed in this book include both those that have a direct correspondence with DIN standards and those that have an indirect correspondence with DIN. The information on indirect correspondence is provided to offer readers as much useful information as possible within limited space. For the specific relationships with DIN and usage details, readers are advised to check accordingly. The book lists these national standard numbers and includes a national standard number index at the back.
