He loved education, respected teachers, and cherished students. To repay his gratitude to his mentors and to continue the legacy of Chen Yuan's teachings, as well as to promote the cause of education in the motherland, he once auctioned calligraphy and paintings, raising over two million yuan, and established the Lvyun Scholarship and Grant Fund at Beijing Normal University.
