One Hundred Snails Go on a Trip One day, one hundred snails in the field decided to go on a trip to see the mountains. They heard the birds say that the scenery on the other side of the mountains was breathtaking. The one hundred snails, carrying their round and shiny houses, lined up anded toward the road leading to the mountains. In the sky, the sun hung red and bright, and it was really hot! The snails stopped and hid inside their round houses. "How far is the mountain from us? When will we get there?" The snails all looked up and up.
Beep beep, beep beep! Three passenger minibuses came from behind. The snails were delighted and quickly blocked their way. Thirty-three snails got onto the red bus driven by a dog; thirty-three snails got onto the yellow bus driven by a monkey; and thirty-three snails got onto the blue bus driven by a goat.
Beep beep, beep beep! The three minibuses started together and drove toward the mountain. Only one snail didn’t get on the bus; he decided to travel on his own.
The three minibuses arrived quickly at the foot of the mountain, and ninety-nine snails got off. They looked up and exclaimed, "Wow, the mountain is really high! They scrambled up and saw nothing but bare rocks. Many snails said angrily, "What great scenery? There isn’t even a single tree!" "Maybe there’s beautiful scenery at the top of the mountain. Let’s climb up and see." One snail suggested.
However, by the time they climbed the slope, it was already dark, and they couldn’t see anything. The wind on the mountain was very strong and cold, so they had to return to the foot of the mountain.
The next morning, the snails no longer wanted to climb the mountain and decided to take the bus back. Suddenly, they saw the snail who hadn’t taken the bus crawling over. "Did you see any beautiful scenery?" he asked the others.
"No," the snails replied, "we only saw bare rocks. What about you?" The snail smiled and said, "I saw many interesting sights along the way. I saw beautiful wildflowers, butterflies and bees dancing; I saw fish swimming in the pond; and I saw a group of ants busy moving their home. At night, I heard crickets and grasshoppers playing music and singing. I even ate all kinds of tender grass and wild fruits and drank sweet dew."
Listening to this, the snails’ eyes widened. "Wow, what a great trip!" So the ninety-nine snails lined up and decided to walk back, starting a real journey. The guide was the snail who hadn’t taken the bus.
In the end, which snail saw the beautiful scenery? The snail who hadn’t taken the bus slowly climbed up the mountain. In the end, only he saw the beautiful scenery.
This story teaches us that on the road to success, we should not be impatient or rush. Every little experience along the way is a gain.
