Features: The "Collection of Famous Stele Characters for Copying and Creating" series has the following characteristics: (1) In addition to selecting exemplary characters from the original stele collections, this series also uses the radicals and components of these characters to design and combine a large number of new characters using computer technology. This approach strives to achieve the legal and spiritual essence of the original characters, providing learners with materials for copying and creative practice. (2) All the exemplary characters are restored to ink tracings, making them closer to the true works of calligraphy masters. Additionally, they are slightly enlarged and marked with fine white lines to indicate brush techniques, making them more intuitive and clear. This helps learners better understand the characteristics of the masters' calligraphy styles and improves the effectiveness of fundamental calligraphy training.
The "Collection of Famous Stele Characters for Copying and Creating" series consists of 6 volumes: "Ouyang Xun's Ji Cheng Gong Collection of Ancient Poems," "Yan Zhenqing's Duobao Ta Stele Collection of Ancient Poems," "Liu Gongquan's Xuan Mi Ta Stele Collection of Ancient Poems," "Zhao Mengfu's Dan Ba Stele Collection of Ancient Poems," "Wang Xizhi's Orchid Pavilion Preface Collection of Ancient Poems," and "Han Li's Shi Chen Stele Collection of Ancient Poems." This volume is the "Liu Gongquan's Xuan Mi Ta Stele Collection of Ancient Poems," which includes 23 five-character and seven-character quatrains from ancient poetry, each accompanied by works (demonstration pieces) and illustrations that closely match the artistic atmosphere of the poems. In terms of both content and form, this series is very suitable for primary and secondary school students and junior high school calligraphy learners. It allows them to choose their preferred calligraphy collection and provides a relatively complete, easy-to-master, and progressive learning guide.
The "Xuan Mi Ta Stele" is part of the "Great Dafa Monk's Xuan Mi Ta Stele," carved in December of the first year of the Huai Chang era (841 AD). The text was written by Pei Xiu, with calligraphy by Liu Gongquan and seal inscriptions. It consists of 28 lines, with 54 characters per line. The original stele is preserved in the Xi'an Stele Forest. The characters in this stele are upright, magnificent, and strong, with a compact center and expansive sides, fully embodying the robust and vigorous characteristics of Liu Gongquan's calligraphy style. It is a representative work of Liu Gongquan's calligraphy that has been passed down through generations.
