Features: Changzhou City, Xiaocai Inn. On the night of June 17th, at midnight, the headmaster of the He Xing Cheng Yunhe had been escorting sixteen boxes of valuable goods for two days. Although the journey had been safe, his mind was tense and exhausted. He had already fallen asleep but suddenly woke up for no reason.
The room was pitch black and utterly silent. Outside the window, there was singing. A series of ethereal sounds, as if someone were singing earnestly, but the melody was strange, as if sung by someone whose tongue was cut off. He opened his eyes and looked at the window directly opposite his bed. In the darkness, faint, emerald-green shadowy figures drifted across the window, sometimes far, sometimes near, and they appeared only on his window. The singing outside continued far away, the song of a "cut tongue" that no living person could understand.
Cheng Yunhe had practiced martial arts for nearly forty years, and though his hearing and eyesight were not among the best in the martial world, they were certainly not weak. Yet, he did not hear any "human" voice. The wind whispered through the slightly ajar window. He stared at the window with the drifting green shadows, and for the first time in his life, he thought of a single word—"ghost"?
Jixiang Wen Lotus Tower
Under the bright sky and clear heavens.
Pingshan Town was a rather unremarkable place, lacking rare treasures or beautiful mountains and rivers. Like most places in the martial world, the townspeople were somewhat dull, the crops in the fields were small, the river water was dirty, and there was little to talk about after meals—too little, so once something happened, everyone would gossip about it for a long time—especially since the recent event was a strange one.
Here’s what happened: On the morning of June 18th, when the townspeople were sweeping the streets, they suddenly discovered that a two-story wooden tower had appeared overnight on the main street. This tower wasn’t short—it was quite tall and could be lived in comfortably, with plenty of space inside. The entire tower was made of wood, intricately carved with exquisitely beautiful lotus flowers and auspicious clouds. After being discussed for most of the day, some sharp-eyed people finally recognized how the tower had "suddenly appeared": It had been transported by cart and placed on the street in Pingshan Town.
People were amazed but couldn’t understand why someone would move such a large wooden tower in the middle of the night and leave it on the street—what was its purpose? Perhaps it was meant to be used as a local land temple?
This speculation lasted for three days until a messenger happened to return home. Upon seeing the tower, he was shocked and exclaimed, "Jixiang Tower!" Without even going home, he turned around and ran back, shouting, "Jixiang Tower!"—and suddenly, the tower was considered a "ghost tower," because anyone who saw it would go mad.
Seven days later, the messenger returned to Pingshan Town with the entire crew, and the townspeople learned that the tower was not a ghost tower at all. It wasn’t just not a ghost tower—it was a tower of great fortune, a tremendous blessing.
The "Jixiang Wen Lotus Tower" was a medical clinic. Its owner was named Li, and her name was Lotus. Who was Li Lotus? In fact, no one in the martial world knew. Her background was unknown, her martial arts skills were unknown, her age was unknown, and even whether she was beautiful or ugly was unknown.
This person had been in the martial world for six years and had done only two things, which made the "Jixiang Wen Lotus Tower" one of the most curious legends in the martial world.
