Features: Medical Insights was written by Cheng Guoping, a renowned physician from the Qing Dynasty. Cheng Guoping, styled Zhongling, was from Tianfu (now Shixian County, Anhui). He began studying medicine in his youth, drawing upon diverse medical traditions and gaining widespread acclaim. Later, after accumulating 30 years of clinical experience, he compiled this book. The work is divided into five volumes, with an additional volume appended. It explicitly proposes the theory of the Eight Principles of Syndrome Differentiation and the Eight Methods of Treatment, while systematically discussing diseases of the Shaoyang, internal, external, gynecological, and ophthalmological/oral departments. His arguments are comprehensive and insightful, the language concise and accessible, and the treatment methods practical. Thus, since the Qing Dynasty, it has become a must-read for beginners in traditional Chinese medicine. The book was first published in the 10th year of the Yongzheng reign (1732) of the Qing Dynasty, and subsequent editions have been published frequently, resulting in numerous versions. This edition is based on the original printing of Cheng Shuzhi Tang from the 10th year of the Yongzheng reign. A preface with a guide has been added, and an index of prescriptions is appended at the end for easy reference. This book is available for reference by physicians in various specialties of traditional Chinese medicine.
