Features: For those who find joy in thinking, Wang Xiaobo is undoubtedly one of their favorite writers. In the years since his passing, the value of his texts has not dimmed with his absence but has rather become more apparent over time. The literature and beauty he created shine like a strong light, piercing through the barriers of time to inspire the hearts of young people. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of this immortal writer's passing, the first ten-volume edition of The Complete Works of Wang Xiaobo was published. This collection includes his important writings during his lifetime, with a significant portion being newly organized thoughts. The entire set is divided into essays, long novels, short novels, short stories, a collection of letters, and unfinished works, totaling approximately 2 million words. Each volume is accompanied by a beautifully designed bookplate signed by Wang Xiaobo personally. East Palace, West Palace tells the story of male homosexuality between two men. It lacks a strong erotic atmosphere, with the entire story composed of night scenes, dialogues, and some stream-of-consciousness flashbacks and fantasy shots. It revolves around two men: a homosexual writer, A Lan, and a handsome police officer, Xiao Shi. Xiao Shi brings the "rascal" A Lan back to the police station for interrogation, and in a mix of curiosity and disdain, forces A Lan to narrate his strange life. As the night passes, A Lan completely unleashes Xiao Shi's hidden homosexual tendencies through language, as if opening a magic bottle. In the morning light, Xiao Shi feels a mix of excitement and fear as if he were reborn.
