Congenital infertility

Patient's question:

We've been married for 6 years. Previously, we used withdrawal as a method of contraception, and now we haven't taken any measures for almost half a year, but we still haven't conceived even once. I'm suspecting whether it might be due to primary infertility.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, conception is a complex physiological process that requires the following conditions:
1. Normal ovulation by the ovaries
2. Normal quality, quantity, and vitality of sperm in semen
3. of fallopian tubes, allowing eggs and sperm to meet and combine to form a zygote
4. Smooth transport of the zygote into the uterine cavity
5. Suitable endometrium for zygote implantation.
If any of these steps are abnormal, conception can be hindered. The reasons for infertility may be related to the female, the male, or both partners, so both should be tested.
Wishing you good health.
