Patient's question:
Previously had inflammation, and later developed cervical polyps during the treatment process.Doctor's answer:
Small polyps can be removed with forceps, followed by slight compression to stop bleeding, or by packing a piece of gauze at the neck opening, which should be removed after 24 hours. For larger polyps with thicker stalks, the base stump can be cauterized after removal to control bleeding. If multiple polyps are present, the neck canal may be slightly dilated before thorough scraping, along with a diagnostic D&C (dilation and curettage). All specimens should be sent for pathological examination to determine if further treatment is needed. Postoperative antibiotics may be administered as needed, and bleeding should be monitored.
