Features: This book was compiled by Wang Weide, a renowned surgeon of the Qing Dynasty, based on his 40 years of clinical experience and incorporating family secret prescriptions. It was published in the fifth year of the Kangxi reign (1740). It consists of one volume and discusses six parts: theoretical arguments, treatment methods, medical formulas, miscellaneous diseases, pharmaceutical preparation, and medical case studies. It introduces 65 treatment methods for common surgical diseases, 75 effective surgical formulas, 48 empirical formulas for internal, gynecological, and pediatric diseases, the properties and processing methods of over 200 medicinal herbs, and 15 medical case studies. The author excelled in treating surgical sores and established a surgical diagnostic and treatment principle based on the theory of yin and yang. He emphasized the yin-yang differentiation of sores and advocated the principle of "prioritizing resolution and avoiding suppuration" in treatment. His clinical efficacy was outstanding, and he proudly claimed, "Over forty years of treating diseases, with no medication errors." He was highly revered by later generations of medical practitioners. The family- secret prescriptions collected in this book, such as Yanghe Decoction, Xihuang Pills, Xingxiao Pills, and Xiaojindan, remain widely used in clinical practice across various disciplines. In this edition, the original text has been carefully selected, a preface has been added, and formula and drug indexes have been compiled at the end for easy reference. This book is not only a clinical reference for surgeons but also an important reference for clinicians in all disciplines.
