Features: The new round of college entrance examination (Gaokao) reforms primarily focus on four aspects: exam content, subject settings, exam format, and admission methods, with steady progress year by year. Especially in the past five years, the pace and depth of reforms have significantly increased. The exam content is comprehensive. Previously, both new and old curricula coexisted during the transition, but by 2005, the entire country adopted new curriculum papers. On the other hand, the annual exam syllabus specifies the assessment content and requirements for each subject, adjusted according to new exam concepts. In terms of subject settings, models such as "3+2," "3+Arts/Science Comprehension," and "3+Arts/Science Comprehension + 1" have emerged. This year, the English exam for Gaokao includes both listening and non-listening versions. In terms of exam format, in addition to the autumn Gaokao, the spring Gaokao has also been introduced. In recent years, more provinces have adopted independent grading, starting with Shanghai, which broke the monopoly of a single exam paper. In 2002, Beijing followed suit. By 2006, 16 provinces had implemented independent grading, and several national exam papers were also introduced for different provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions to choose from. In 2006, there were a total of 18 Gaokao exam papers nationwide, with variations in question types, quantities, and scoring. Except for the Shanghai paper, other Gaokao questions were designed within the scope of the national exam syllabus, but independent grading provinces set more specific and clear limits based on the Gaokao syllabus, using them as the basis for independent grading to reflect the educational characteristics and levels of different regions. Through recent years' Gaokao exam papers, not only can one see the progress of Gaokao reforms but also grasp the trends and patterns of Gaokao question-setting. In terms of admission, universities have been granted greater autonomy, with more institutions adopting independent enrollment. Some regions are now implementing specialized exams for vocational colleges. Gaokao reforms will continue, and the pace may accelerate, but the intensity will remain steady. Since Gaokao cannot be abolished, as students, it is essential to understand it, adapt to reforms, and recognize the trends in question-setting. Through past Gaokao exam papers, one can directly perceive the evolution and trends of reforms. In light of this, we have carefully selected representative questions from 2002-2004 and all recent years' Gaokao papers to compile The New Five-Year Gaokao to meet the urgent needs of teachers and students. This book includes subjects such as Chinese, Mathematics, English, Arts Comprehension, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Politics, History, and Geography, featuring Gaokao papers used in various regions over the past five years. In terms of editing, there are a few points to note: 1. Starting from 2005, all Gaokao papers nationwide adopted new curriculum papers. Considering the differences between old and new curriculum materials, especially in mathematics, which is more significant, this book includes only a minimal number of old curriculum papers. For other Gaokao papers before 2004, only representative and excellent papers are selected. 2. Since 2004, more provinces have adopted independent grading. These exam papers share commonalities under the exam syllabus but also reflect regional characteristics based on their grading guidelines or supplementary notes, serving as references for both local and other regions. Therefore, all independently graded papers are included and are universally applicable. 3. In most provinces, the mathematics exam for arts and science students differs. Soon, the practice of separate papers for arts and science students in mathematics will no longer exist. Therefore, this book no longer includes papers with both arts and science sections. To more intuitively reflect the differences in mathematics Gaokao between arts and science students and maximize information with the same price, the mathematics papers in this book are combined. Questions marked with (Arts) or (Science) are for arts or science students only, respectively. Those without a mark are for both arts and science students, with corresponding answers marked. Thus, this book is suitable for both arts and science students. 4. English exam papers are divided into listening and non-listening versions, with a separate audio cassette provided for the listening section. Considering the convenience of using audio cassettes, the same-year papers are organized into separate sections for listening and non-listening, with listening papers first and non-listening papers second. The recordings for the 2005 papers were read by American experts, ensuring clear pronunciation, with repetition and speed adjusted to actual Gaokao requirements. The recordings for the 2006 papers were recorded during the Gaokao in various provinces, accurately reflecting the actual pronunciation, speed, tone, and listening experience, making them more valuable for reference. The order of recordings on the audio cassette matches the order of questions in the book exactly. 5. Most regions nationwide examine "3+Arts/Science Comprehension," with very few testing single subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, politics, history, and geography. Since comprehensive subject review is based on individual subjects, this book includes both single subject Gaokao papers and split questions from comprehensive subjects for the physics, chemistry, biology, politics, history, and geography sections to meet students' review needs. Split questions and single subject papers differ in quantity and scoring, so students should adjust and manage their time during practice. 6. This book is primarily intended for use in the later stages of Gaokao review, especially after the second round, to practice full Gaokao papers. This helps assess prior review effectiveness, identify gaps, and fill in knowledge gaps. It also allows students to experience the Gaokao firsthand. 7. Most questions in this book come with detailed answers, which are compiled at the back for reference by teachers and students for review and self-assessment. 8. To better assist readers and facilitate student communication, an online service is provided, where users can access problem-solving insights, receive additional test papers, and other supplementary materials.
