The young girl Bai Nuo, suffering from an incurable illness, travels between the human world, the Joyful World, and the World of Extreme Sorrow through the "Lake of Lakes" in the Joyful World, guided by the boy Wu Wu. In the Joyful World, Bai Nuo learns that Wu Wu is actually the fifth prince of the Lake Kingdom. Due to the narrow-mindedness and selfishness of the Lake Queen, who governs the Lake Kingdom, the Joyful World is facing a war of mutual destruction between the princes. To find a way back to the human world, Bai Nuo embarks on an adventure in the Joyful World. She meets the magical Jade Spirit Rabbit, the kind dwarfs in the underground city, the white rice sand beach, the immortal children of the Ghost Village, the castle of the Thief King, and even the Uwa in the World of Extreme Sorrow. Through the marvelous "Mirror of Divine Knowledge," she ultimately understands the joys and sorrows of the three worlds, feels the love and hatred of the three worlds, and skillfully uses the power of love to resolve the tense internal conflicts in the Joyful World and the long-standing cruel feuds in the World of Extreme Sorrow. Love ends the war, but love cannot hold Bai Nuo back, because her love is divided between two different spaces, and she can only choose one.
On a cold winter day, snowflakes fluttered in the air. In a quiet night, the beautiful city was covered in a layer of snow. "-Hiss-hiss-" A pair of emerald-green, sparkling wings glided across the snowy night, emitting faint lights. The twinkling lights flickered faintly in the sky, appearing and disappearing until they landed in front of a small window in a room at a hospital named "An Yi." Only then could it be seen clearly that it was a guy with envy-inspiring small wings: green hair, no bigger than the palm of an adult's hand, cobalt-blue eyes, and a charming appearance, dressed like a prince from a fairy tale. His legs were slender, and he danced lightly in front of the window. However, this little guy had no hands; his hands had transformed into beautiful wings.
The cold wind was beating against the window, and the green guy flapped his wings, staying in front of the window. "-Oh, it's so uncomfortable, someone, help!" A low groan came from the girl lying on the bed. She had curly, shiny black hair, was petite and delicate, yet her gaze was vacant. Her slender little hands tightly gripped her chest, and she was gasping for breath. She wanted to call the nurse, but a sudden tightness in her chest made it impossible for her to speak. Only a bitter, stifled cry came out. She wanted to get up, but her body had no strength; her face was pale, and her lips were purple.
The sight of the girl filled the little guy outside with sympathy. The green guy easily slipped through the narrow gap in the window and came to the girl's side. He knew humans couldn't see him, and he also knew he couldn't communicate with the girl in his own language. Staring at the girl in immense pain, the little guy felt a mix of emotions. At that moment, the girl's gaze seemed to be examining him.
"Hey! - Green little guy, save me! Go call the nurse!" The girl gently patted the small thing right in front of her. This made the little guy widen his eyes. He didn't understand what she was saying, but he knew she could see him and needed his help. The girl painfully rolled off the bed, rolling her body. The little guy grew anxious. He spun around, his wings transforming into nimble little hands. His heels slowly landed on the bedside, and he took out an orange-red seed from his clothes.
The little guy thought for a moment, as if making a big decision, and tossed the seed. It naturally fell into the girl's mouth. Suddenly, the girl's body glowed, and in a flash, her body shrank. The girl's pain stopped. She stood up, looking around at herself, then at the little guy. To her surprise, he was a handsome boy, about her age, with short green hair and an enchanting aura. The boy's slightly parted lips closed again.
The girl and the boy looked at each other for a long time, the atmosphere somewhat awkward. The girl broke the silence: "My name is Bai Nuo, and I'm already ten years old. Are you a spirit?" The boy smiled, his smile as fresh and bright as the rising sun.
"No!" The answer was simple.
"Then what's your name? Where are you from? Where are you going? Why are you here? Wearing so little, aren't you cold?" Bai Nuo asked a series of questions. The boy frowned: "My name is Yirshanswu, and I come from the Lake."
"One, two, three, four, five? Why is your name so strange!" Yirshanswu thought Bai Nuo's pronunciation of his name was correct, but it still felt awkward.
"--" The hospital room door creaked open, and two nurses walked in. When they saw the empty bed, they were baffled, looking around in confusion, then exclaimed and left the room: "Ah! The patient is gone! Someone, help!"
Bai Nuo watched the unfolding scene with wide eyes: "My goodness! They can't see me?"
Yirshanswu shook his head: "No, humans can't see Lake Kids."
"Are you not a spirit?" Bai Nuo asked again.
"I said I'm not! I'm a Lake Kid, from the Round Lake." Yirshanswu said impatiently.
Bai Nuo clearly didn't understand, but she had to know how to turn back into a human.
"So, one, two, three, four, five, I'm already better now. Turn me back into a human!"
Facing Bai Nuo's question, Yirshanswu scratched his head: "That seed is my only treasure. I originally wanted to turn into a human to experience life here, but now I've turned a human into a Lake Kid. I really don't know how to turn back into a human. Right now, I'm a little glad I didn't eat that seed."
Yirshanswu felt he did have a responsibility. Although he had saved the girl, he had also brought another trouble.
