One day in late 2005, an editor from China Textile Press approached the author, wanting to do something for the heating-up art college entrance examination. Thus, the idea of a book introducing the current state of art college entrance examination tutoring centers in Beijing was conceived. It serves as a valuable reference for candidates and parents nationwide. The emergence of art classes undoubtedly fills the inherent shortcomings of high school art education and the severely outdated educational philosophy, avoiding a serious disconnect between the requirements of art universities and the abilities of applicants. Before writing, I and my assistants searched through more than 100 art training centers in Beijing, large and small, with fixed premises and a business license being the basic requirements for participation in the book's promotion. On this basis, we verified the student enrollment and graduation rates of each studio to ensure the selected studios represent a wide range of schools with a certain reputation. It must be emphasized that in the annual enrollment of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, these studios account for about 70% of the enrollment in the fine arts major, and the design major is even more astonishingly over 90%. These studios have made outstanding contributions to China's art education and have provided training grounds for a broader range of candidates to develop "creativity." The results achieved by the hard work of these training centers will become apparent in the near future.
