The teacher walked into the classroom holding a stack of papers. "Class, we're having a test today!"
"Oh no, another test!" the students whispered in dismay.
"Shh! Once we're done, we get a day off tomorrow!" the teacher said with a smile.
"Oh, great!" everyone cheered. But then the teacher added, "After class, each of you needs to write an essay about study methods!"
Ugh, what a nightmare. It was so sad, but what could they do?
Indeed, learning inevitably brings pressure to us. Especially with so much homework and exams, it can take a toll on our mental well-being. But should this pressure become a burden?
When you lack motivation to learn, you may feel that studying is an unbearable weight. However, when your heart is filled with a desire to learn, you'll realize that learning is actually a process of enriching and fulfilling yourself—not a burden.
Some might say, "Learning is too hard." And it is. But precisely because it's challenging, we can better appreciate the infinite joy it holds. As Shakespeare once said, "The pursuit of any earthly thing is more delightful than the enjoyment of it."
Newton was so engrossed in studying that he forgot to eat. Doesn't that just show the immense charm of learning?
Perhaps some have encountered too many failures and endured immense pressure during their studies. These struggles might lead them to believe that learning is a physical and mental burden. But we can't entirely think that way. Learning requires an optimistic and open-minded attitude. There's no need to be overly happy or sad about minor gains or losses.
We must also admit that exploring the unknown while moving forward is painful. Yet what keeps us going forward? The idea of reaping rewards after enduring hardships is easy to understand, though we won't dwell on it here. What matters is whether we should truly consider learning a burden in this process.
Of course, we shouldn't! Only by shedding the burden of learning can we study happily and find joy in our studies.
When you've thought deeply and finally solved a difficult problem, ask yourself: "Is this joy not worth the sweat I poured into it?"
When you can use knowledge to explain the wondrous, infinite world, you should be even more proud of your own greatness.
When you find endless joy in learning and become lost in it, ask yourself: "Do I still see learning as a burden?" I believe not.
With a new understanding of learning and improved techniques to make it easier, you'll discover that learning can truly be more relaxed and joyful.
Learning without joy cannot be called true learning, just as joy without learning cannot be called true joy. What we seek is a "win-win" situation.
From the day we were born, we've been filled with curiosity about the world. Everything is new and unfamiliar to us. So, we try to understand it, and in doing so, we find happiness.
When we step into the classroom and perfectly answer a question posed by the teacher, receiving nods of approval from our classmates—happiness fills us.
When we apply what we've learned to our work and achieve results, earning praise from our superiors—happiness fills us.
Every moment, learning brings us joy. But if we step away from learning...
