Although the river of time has flowed for over a thousand years, the magnificent national culture still shines brightly and remains glorious.
To help students better understand and master the ancient Chinese poems and prose required by the Curriculum Standards and the "Examination Description," Peking University's Yan Yuan has carefully designed and launched the New Curriculum Standard Reading Series with its unique philosophy, including "70 Ancient Poems for Primary School Students to Memorize," "50 Ancient Chinese Poems and Prose for Junior High School Students to Memorize," and "40 Ancient Chinese Poems and Prose for High School Students to Memorize." In the compilation process, we have carefully considered and selected original versions of various influential ancient Chinese poems and prose from across the country, carefully comparing and selecting a large number of excellent works to delight readers. In terms of content design, we have conscientiously followed the principles, fully considering the psychological needs and cognitive characteristics of students at different ages, and put in great effort to facilitate students' memorization and understanding. We emphasize the guidance of renowned teachers and the appreciation of poems and prose, with annotations that are simple, colloquial, yet rich in cultural and historical knowledge. In the primary school stage, we have designed some lively and engaging questions to make it enjoyable and easy for children to memorize, while also inspiring them to think independently. The light and lively layout makes students feel close and happy, and the vivid comments make it easier for students to understand and maintain a keen interest. On this basis, this book has also added content to expand thinking, targeting key points, simplifying complexity, and guiding students to deeper understanding and reflection.
