Is this a symptom of luteal insufficiency?

Patient's question:

On April 8, 2009, I got pregnant, and on July 10, the pregnancy stopped. It was said that it stopped around week 9. I was never checked for the cause or factors of the miscarriage. On August 21, I had my period, and on September 23, my blood HCG was 25.1 MIU/mL. On September 27, my blood HCG was 5.67 MIU/mL, and my progesterone level was 0.706 g/mL. They diagnosed it as a biochemical pregnancy and natural miscarriage, saying the fertilized egg did not implant. I want to ask if it could be because of insufficient progesterone?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, based on your description (temperature rising slowly after ovulation) there is a possibility of luteal phase deficiency.
Advice: First, understand this: biochemical pregnancy, where the fertilized egg does not implant, is not necessarily caused by luteal phase deficiency. It could be due to an autoimmune issue, other factors, or underlying conditions. This needs to be ruled out first, which can be costly and may not always yield results. You can start with some routine tests like reproductive antibodies and the four-item preconceptual health screening. Regarding luteal phase deficiency, you can check ovarian hormones during the luteal phase to assess it.
