Patient's question:
Main symptoms: Habitual abortion Onset time: 2006 Test results: Luteal function insufficiencyDoctor's answer:
Hello: Luteal phase defect refers to insufficient progesterone secretion by the corpus luteum or premature luteal regression, leading to poor secretion of the endometrium and consequently difficulty in implantation of the embryo or early pregnancy miscarriage. Luteal phase defect may be related to insufficient secretion of LH and FSH by the pituitary gland, excessive or insufficient prolactin secretion by the pituitary gland; sometimes it is due to the immaturity of the embryo itself, which is not sensitive to gonadotropins; sometimes it is due to insufficient ability of the corpus luteum to synthesize progesterone, or an imbalance in the ratio of estrogen and progesterone.
