Features: Environmental protection and sustainable development are the main themes of the world today and also the eternal themes of human social development. In the past half century, with the improvement of social productivity and changes in people's consumption patterns, the environment has suffered many irreparable harms, and the Earth, which humans rely on for survival, is bearing unprecedented burdens. People are increasingly realizing that protecting the environment and developing the economy must be given equal importance. Based on this, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has introduced the ISO14000 series of environmental management standards and has revised them in accordance with social and economic development. China's State Council's standardization authorities have promptly translated the relevant standards into national standards. The purpose of the ISO14000 series of environmental management standards is to regulate enterprises' environmental management practices, strengthen prevention and control, continuously improve the environmental performance of organizations, guide organizations to voluntarily comply with environmental laws, regulations, and other relevant technical requirements, improve processes, enhance the management level of enterprises, promote clean production, and reduce pollution to the environment. This book collects 15 current national environmental management standards issued and implemented before the end of March 2006, including GB/T24001—2004 and GB/T24004—2004, and is divided into six parts: environmental management systems, audit guidelines, environmental labels, environmental performance evaluation (environmental performance evaluation), life cycle assessment, and terminology. To provide guidance for the implementation of quality and environmental management system audits, this compilation also includes GB/T19011—2003 "Guidelines for Quality (or) Environmental Management System Audits." The readers of this book are certification and consulting personnel for environmental management systems, organizations planning to implement environmental management systems, and knowledgeable individuals concerned about environmental management.
