Factors or causes of female infertility

Patient's question:

I have been married for several years, but haven't been able to get pregnant. I would like to ask, does anyone know the factors or causes of female infertility? Is it that she can no longer have children? Unclear

Doctor's answer:

Couples of childbearing age who live together after marriage, without contraception, have normal sexual activity, and have not been pregnant for more than two years (the American Obstetrics and Gynecology textbook and the Infertility Association define this period as one year) are referred to as "infertility."
Recommendations: The main factors or causes of female infertility are:
1. Ovulatory dysfunction, characterized by the absence of ovulation during the menstrual cycle, or ovulation occurs but the corpus luteum function is inadequate.
2. Congenital or acquired abnormalities of the reproductive organs, which obstruct the patency and function of the reproductive tract from the vulva to the fallopian tubes, hindering the meeting of sperm and eggs, leading to infertility.
3. Immunological factors: This refers to the presence of antisperm antibodies in the female reproductive tract or serum, causing sperm to clump together, lose vitality, or die, resulting in infertility or subfertility. Additionally, some infertile women have serum containing antibodies-like substances against their own egg zona pellucida, which can block sperm penetration and fertilization, also causing infertility.
4. Sexual dysfunction, lack of sexual knowledge, systemic diseases, and other unknown factors or causes account for about one-third of infertility cases.
