Features: On the path of life development, people always hope for more choices and more opportunities to change their fate, making their lives more colorful and diverse. After 2000, Chinese students had more options. With China's development, some families became wealthier and could afford to study abroad. While the United States stubbornly believed that Chinese students were too poor to pay tuition fees, their neighboring countries like the UK, Australia, etc., acted like hunting dogs, keenly sensing the passion of Chinese students for studying abroad and the business opportunities within it, and began to admit a large number of Chinese students to study in their countries. Faced with the sudden emergence of numerous choices, Chinese students were overwhelmed and rushed out in a frenzy. IELTS, the language proficiency test corresponding to TOEFL for Commonwealth countries, became another important exam that Chinese students had to take to study abroad. When Americans were satisfied with their own established standards and insisted that TOEFL was the best language testing system in the world, IELTS took a more practical direction, emphasizing the importance of students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in language testing. When Americans realized their mistakes and began to reform the TOEFL exam, tens of thousands of Chinese students had already gone to Commonwealth countries to study. We hope that Chinese students do not lose themselves in the choices and do not choose for the sake of choosing. New Oriental is also working hard for the ideals that it cannot let go of, which is to help Chinese students on their path forward, becoming stepping stones or accelerators to help them overcome life's obstacles. The publication of this IELTS book is a small testament to our efforts. Perhaps it may not be the best IELTS book, but it has been infused with the entire heart and soul of New Oriental's IELTS teachers, incorporating nearly a decade of their teaching experience. These heart and soul, and experience, can be read between the lines of the entire book.
