Ovary development is poor

Patient's question:

My daughter is sixteen years old and very slim. She has always been like this, but we used to think it was because she didn't eat much or due to some medical condition. However, later it was discovered that she has almost no breast development, very sparse pubic and armpit hair. She started her period two years ago, but hasn't had one this year. When she went to the hospital for a check-up, they said it was due to underdeveloped ovaries.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, patients with ovarian dysgenesis cannot establish reproductive function. Estrogen therapy can promote breast development, slightly stimulate the growth of pubic and axillary hair, and stimulate endometrial hyperplasia. It can also cause withdrawal bleeding similar to menstruation. Additionally, estrogen therapy is beneficial for sexual life, providing patients with a sense of pleasure and comfort. Currently, the artificial cycle therapy of estrogen-progestogen is recommended to induce cyclical uterine bleeding. On one hand, it offers psychological comfort to patients, and on the other hand, regular endometrial shedding can prevent the occurrence of endometrial cancer.
