Features: Since its publication in 1997, the "English-Chinese Technical Science Dictionary" (Comprehensive & Annotated Edition) has been highly praised and welcomed by readers and society, and has been reprinted multiple times. Over the past 7 years, especially since the beginning of the 21st century, with the progress of society and the development of science and technology, many new terms have emerged in fields such as economic management, computer technology, network and communication technology, biotechnology, new materials, and pharmaceutical technology. The definitions of many "old" terms have also changed. In response to reader requests, we have contacted relevant authors to supplement and revise new terms and updated definitions of old terms. The revisions in this edition are primarily reflected in the following aspects. In fact, since the release of this edition, revision work has never stopped. Especially in recent years, the effort to collect new terms and definitions based on the development of society and science and technology, as well as to revise outdated or inappropriate content in the original book, has accelerated. The chief editor Zhang Lü, associate editor Li Zhichong, and author Tu Yuen, among others, have meticulously contributed to the revision of this book. In July 2003, after the completion of the full manuscript, the passing of Mr. Zhang Lü was a great loss to this dictionary and the chemical publishing industry. His persistent dedication, rigorous scholarly demeanor, and meticulous work ethic will inspire us to continue improving the revision work in accordance with the five suggestions he left in the "Preface to the Second Edition" and to quickly present the second edition of this dictionary to the readers as a tribute to his memory, fulfilling the widespread desire for the second edition.
