This book comprehensively explains one unit of the training course from the perspective of form, specifically the natural form analysis course content.
The course uses sketching as its primary tool, and the course problems are connected to formal composition language and even material experiments. The assignment process is a transitional one, from a formal perspective, it moves from the surface of forms to their internal structures, from three-dimensional to two-dimensional, and then develops into three-dimensional form expression, ultimately transitioning from natural forms to abstract forms. From a cognitive perspective, it evolves from the macroscopic world to the microscopic world, combining perceptual and rational thinking. From a expressive perspective, it progresses from sketching studies to creative work using multiple techniques.
For a design student, the ability to analyze, refine, and develop forms from multiple angles to create new shapes, the active application of form elements (e.g., contrast principles), and a keen sensitivity to the composition order, skeleton structure, and rhythm of the are all crucial.
