Features: This book is written based on the "Basic Requirements for the Teaching of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" reviewed by the Teaching Guidance Committee of Engineering Mathematics Courses in Higher Education in 1993, combining the author's many years of teaching experience. The book is divided into three parts: Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, and Random Processes, covering the entire content of probability theory and mathematical statistics courses for non-mathematics majors in higher education institutions and non-mathematics majors in science and engineering. This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate, diploma, and graduate students in engineering majors and non-mathematics majors in science and engineering, as well as for scientists and engineering technicians for reference. The book consists of ten chapters, including: Random Events and Their Probabilities, One-Dimensional Random Variables, Multi-Dimensional Random Variables, Digital Characteristics of Random Variables, Preliminary Limit Theorems, Basic Concepts of Mathematical Statistics, Hypothesis Testing and Interval Estimation, Regression Analysis, Analysis of Variance and Orthogonal Experimental Design, Preliminary Random Processes, etc. The book strives to be concise and to the point, avoiding unnecessary complexity, emphasizing readability and intuitiveness, and highlighting its applicability through examples from various fields. For the convenience of teaching, selected exercises are provided at the end of each chapter, and reference answers to the exercises are appended at the end of the book.
