Features: Compared to other calligraphy teaching materials, this series has distinctive features:
1. Emphasis on Practicality. The writing of thestrives to adapt to the actual needs of high school students and beginners, integrating calligraphy learning with the application of Chinese language studies and professional learning. In terms of content arrangement, based on the current research concept of calligraphy teaching—“practical, quick results”—we boldly abandon the traditional approach of starting with brush calligraphy and directly proceed to hard-tip calligraphy. The teaching includes detailed and insightful explanations of the techniques for regular script and running script, as well as scientific and efficient, time-saving practice shortcuts. The examples for reference are sourced from the classical Chinese poems and prose in high school, vocational, and technical school Chinese textbooks, as well as common practical writing styles and professional vocabulary in social interactions. This allows students to improve their writing skills while enriching their appreciation for traditional and elegant culture, enhancing their professional knowledge application abilities, achieving multiple benefits in one go. It also provides guidance on how to successfully pass calligraphy level and rank exams. The calligraphy examples are written in standardized forms, with some selected works retaining traditional characters while the rest are written in simplified characters.
2. Innovative Format. This series breaks away from the conventional model of simply imparting techniques or copying famous calligraphy scrolls, emphasizing the systematic, progressive, and applied nature of hard-tip calligraphy learning. The series includes practice pads closelythe textbook, divided into regular script and running script sections, allowing for targeted training based on the teaching progress. This arrangement helps students solidify a strong foundation in hard-tip calligraphy and master writing techniques step by step, leading to breakthroughs in their skills.
3. Wide Applicability. This series is not only an ideal textbook for hard-tip calligraphy but also a self-study guide for those learning without a teacher. Therefore, it is suitable not only for calligraphy courses in high schools but also for self-study bycalligraphy enthusiasts. Given the lack of clear time limits and teaching standards for calligraphy courses in various schools, we have divided the textbook and practice pad into separate volumes, both of which include teaching content for regular script and running script, making it convenient for schools to choose based on specific circumstances. Generally, calligraphy courses are arranged for one academic year (40 class hours), focusing on regular script; or for two academic years (80 class hours), with running script taught in the second year. Of course, as long as there is a sufficient amount of extracurricular practice, it is also possible to achieve significant results within one academic year by completing both regular script and running script teaching.
