What reasons lead to infertility

Patient's question:

Started to date until now, no contraception, no pregnancy. Menstrual volume is small, dark with a small amount of blood clots. Uterus is retroverted, and the couple only engages in sexual activity in the days after ovulation. Also, there is cervical erosion of degree 2. What could be the reason? Is it necessary to do a fallopian tube? What tests need to be done? Which department should I visit? What could cause infertility?

Doctor's answer:

Essential conditions for pregnancy: 1. Normal ovarian function, releasing normal eggs. 2. Normal sperm and semen from the male partner. 3. Sperm and egg can combine in the fallopian tubes, and the fertilized egg can normally enter the uterine cavity. 4. The endometrium is fully prepared, suitable for the development of the fertilized egg. Any abnormality in any of these steps can lead to infertility.
If a couple has not used contraception and remains infertile for more than one year, they should undergo testing. The male partner should abstain from sex for 3-5 days and have a routine semen analysis. The female partner should have her endocrine levels checked using electrochemical luminescence during the 3-5 days of her menstrual period, followed by a vaginal examination, dynamic digital hysterosalpingography, and 4D vaginal ultrasound after her period has ended. Generally, this can confirm the diagnosis. If the cause remains unclear, further examination with an electronic hysteroscope or laparoscope may be necessary.
