Exploration of Minnan and Taiwan Culture

Publish Date: 2006-01-01
Features: This book studies Minnan and Taiwan as a shared region, primarily elaborating on their commonalities. It focuses on the distinctive characteristics of Minnan and Taiwanese cultures, clarifying their individual traits to facilitate a deeper understanding of their shared aspects. As a companion to Minnan-Taiwan Regional Culture, the original plan was to list corresponding chapters such as "History," "Culture," "Religion," "Folklore," "Literature," "Art," "Architecture," and "Education" to align with the content of the main book. However, during the writing process, I discovered that most of the related content had already been published as monographs or academic papers by myself. Reincluding them would be repetitive and burdensome for readers. After careful consideration, I decided to remove the published or previously published content and include its table of contents as an appendix at the end for reference by interested readers. The chapter Modern Church Schools and Fujian Women in this book was written by Associate Professor Zhao Rong, as noted here.
