Can I get pregnant if I have a Bartholin's cyst that doesn't hurt or itch?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I have a Bartholin's cyst for about half a year. There were two episodes of pain during this time, and I went to the gynecology department where they prescribed metronidazole and topical medication, which then resolved the issue. However, a new lump has appeared due to sexual arousal, but it doesn't cause pain or discomfort. The doctor told me to ignore it, and if it becomes painful and forms an abscess in the future, then surgery may be performed. But she also said that surgery is prone to recurrence, and she believes my condition won't require surgery. Yet this sexual arousal lump keeps swelling and doesn't go down unless I take medication. It's very frustrating. What should I do? Also, can I have sex or get pregnant in my current condition?

Doctor's answer:

Vaginal gland diseases primarily manifest as Bartholin's gland cysts or Bartholin's gland abscesses. Early occurrences are usually cysts, and when redness, swelling, heat, and pain appear later, it suggests the development of an abscess. Cysts can often be treated conservatively, while abscesses require incision and drainage. After successful treatment, pregnancy can be considered.
