The probability of recurrence after recovery from pelvic cancer

Patient's question:

Recently, I have frequently experienced ascites and abdominal pain. Upon diagnosis, it was found to be pelvic cancer. I am currently undergoing treatment. Could you please tell me the probability of recurrence after recovery from pelvic cancer?

Doctor's answer:

Symptoms include lower abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and infertility. Laparoscopy is currently the best method for diagnosing endometriosis. Treatment includes:
1. Medication:
- Progestins can cause endometrial shedding and atrophy and are the first-line drugs for endometriosis.
- Mifepristone
- Danazol, etc.
2. Surgery: For patients whose symptoms do not improve with medication, whose local lesions worsen, or whose fertility has not been restored; or for ovarian endometrioma with a diameter greater than 5-6 cm, especially those who urgently desire fertility.
3. Combination of surgery and medication.
4. Endometriosis in adolescence: Mild cases with surgical indications can have the lesions removed, followed by low-dose oral contraceptives to prevent recurrence postoperatively.
