Patient's question:
Hello: How can infertility be overcome to get pregnant? Recently, my husband and I have made up our minds to use every possible method to definitely get pregnant, but how can we get pregnant?Doctor's answer:
It is recommended to have intercourse during the ovulation period. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before her next menstrual period. Starting from the first day of the next menstrual period, count backwards 14 days or subtract 14 days to determine the ovulation day. The ovulation day, plus the five days before it and the four days after it, together constitute the ovulation period. Male sperm can maintain fertilizing ability in a woman's reproductive tract for up to two to three days. Therefore, sexual intercourse during the days before and after ovulation increases the chances of conception. After each sexual encounter, placing a pillow under the woman's buttocks can further enhance the likelihood of pregnancy. If pregnancy still does not occur, both partners should refrain from sexual activity for three to five days and then visit a hospital for examination. For the man, tests should include semen analysis and sperm quality assessment. For the woman, tests should include a six-hormone panel and ultrasound. It is recommended that you and your partner undergo a comprehensive and systematic examination at a regular hospital to identify the cause of infertility and receive targeted treatment.
