Patient's question:
Hello, I have blood in my white discharge, or it's like, and every time after sexual intercourse, there's blood. I consulted online, and people said it's caused by fungal vaginitis. Is it serious? How can it be cured?Doctor's answer:
Hello!Vaginal candidiasis. The main symptoms of vaginal candidiasis include external genital itching, curd-like vaginal discharge, and burning pain. When symptoms are severe, it can cause restlessness and extreme discomfort.
Suggested Western medicine treatment:
(1) Oral administration of nystatin: 500,000 units per dose, four times daily. Topical use as a suppository: each suppository contains 250,000 units.
Topical treatment methods:
(1) Rinse the vagina and external genitalia with a 2% soda solution once daily. A course of 10 rinses is recommended. After vaginal rinsing, medication should be inserted into the vagina.
(2) Nystatin powder, tablets, suppositories, or ointment can be inserted into the vagina or applied to the genital area: 100,000–200,000 units per dose, once daily. A course of 10–14 days is recommended.
(3) Clotrimazole suppositories: 500 mg per dose, inserted into the vagina three to four times daily for two weeks.
It is best for both partners to be treated. Only when gynecological examinations and microscopic tests of vaginal discharge are normal for three consecutive months can the condition be considered fully cured.
