Post BBT surgery cervical care

Patient's question:

I am a 25-year-old married woman without children. Recently, I was diagnosed with severe cervical erosion and underwent a BBT procedure at a maternity hospital in Shenzhen. After the surgery, the attending doctor insisted that I visit the hospital daily for medication. They inserted metronidazole suppositories, Daktarin nitrate miconazole suppositories, and compound calamine ointment externally into the vagina, along with intravenous drip treatment. The doctor said that if I didn't change the medication daily, the wound might fuse with the surrounding tissues. They also mentioned that I would need cervical dilation one week after the surgery, otherwise my cervix could very well stick together. I was terrified after hearing this. Fortunately, a doctor from Beijing Maternity Hospital was giving a consultation in Shenzhen.

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Your current situation is a misunderstanding! Checkup and treatment are different! The vaginal medication you use is for treating the disease and preventing infection, and it has no effect or irritation on the uterus and cervix! However, a checkup requires a detailed examination of the uterine condition, so it will directly cause some irritation to the uterus. Therefore, the two situations you mentioned are of different concepts.
