Patient's question:
I am almost two months pregnant and have been feeling very nauseous lately. I don't want to eat anything and have no energy. Yesterday, I went to the hospital for an ultrasound, which showed a grade 0, with a 1+. The doctor didn't say anything was wrong, but there was a placenta on the anterior wall, and they didn't explain what it meant. I am very confused. What kind of help do I need: What does a placenta on the anterior wall mean?
Doctor's answer:
Analysis of the condition: Placenta anterior wall indicates that the placenta is in front of the uterine wall. Grade 0 indicates that your placenta is not yet mature, possibly because you are in an early stage of pregnancy. Normal placenta is divided into 3 grades. Grade I represents the early stage of placental maturity, with uniform echoes, visible around 30-32 weeks of pregnancy; Grade II indicates that the placenta is approaching maturity; Grade III suggests that the placenta has matured. The closer to full term, the more mature the placenta becomes, and the more uneven the echoes.
