Menstruation period with lower abdominal pain

Patient's question:

The day before yesterday, I had transparent yellow fluid discharge with a slight red tinge, lower abdominal pain, and mild lower back pain. Now I am experiencing deeper, bright red blood flow. I am currently taking traditional Chinese medicine to treat pelvic inflammatory disease. There was sexual intercourse between my last and this period, and I suspect it might be pregnancy rather than ovulation. Or could it be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease? What tests can be used to determine this?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, due to the sudden decrease of sex hormones in the body before menstruation, it can affect the whole system and cause certain reactions. These reactions generally appear 7–14 days before menstruation, intensify 2–3 days before the onset of menstruation, and gradually subside and disappear after the period. In medicine, these noticeable changes are referred to as premenstrual tension syndrome.
General manifestations include:
⑴ Primarily mental symptoms: Commonly include nervous sensitivity, irritability, overall fatigue and weakness, and sometimes may cause headaches, insomnia, and difficulty concentrating.
⑵ Primarily physical symptoms: Commonly include swelling in the hands, feet, and face, a feeling of abdominal bloating, abdominal distension in some people, constipation in most girls, lower abdominal pain, and breast tenderness.
Pay attention to keeping warm and can use warm water foot soaks, etc.
