Features: This research topic is highly meaningful both practically and theoretically. In terms of practical significance, the findings of this study can help opera actors understand the phonetic system and characteristics of a specific opera from the perspectives of phonetics and phonology. It can also serve as an important reference for the opera community in cultivating new actors in terms of pronunciation. One of the ultimate goals of this research is to attempt to establish standardized pronunciation norms for local opera dialects. Local operas have existed for hundreds of years, and their pronunciation has been passed down orally without a unified standard. In terms of theoretical significance, this research will begin with the analysis of classic opera scripts to explore the characteristics of local opera language and its relationship with the natural language of the native region, the common language of the nation, and the mother tongue of the actors. Local opera language can be considered a special sociolect, and the research in this topic will contribute to the theoretical development of sociolinguistics or cultural linguistics. This research will also have positive implications for the study of historical phonology of dialects. Although the local rhyme dictionaries from the Ming and Qing dynasties are indeed important materials for studying the historical phonology of dialects, it should not be overlooked that there are both similarities and differences between qu rhyme dictionaries and dialectal phonology, and they are not entirely the same. Previous research on the relationship between the two and their causes has been scarce.
