Features: This book is divided into three parts, totaling fourteen chapters. Part I is the general theory section, which elaborates on the connotation of border trade from two aspects: the definition of border trade and the relevant provisions of the World Trade Organization regarding border trade. It focuses on theoretically explaining the relationship between border trade and the sustainable development of the ecological environment in ethnic regions. Additionally, it discusses the international economic and ecological impacts in border trade from perspectives such as the negative externalities of economic globalization, green trade barriers, the ecological economic benefits of international investment in ethnic regions, and subregional economic cooperation. Part II is the section on the current status and development strategies of border trade in various regions, which conducts empirical research-based analysis on the border trade activities in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, Guangxi, Tibet, Yunnan, and Jilin, clarifying the development conditions, analyzing their characteristics and existing problems, and proposing ideas and countermeasures for the development of border trade from the perspective of sustainable ecological development in these regions. Part III is the section on the research of regional economic cooperation between ethnic regions and neighboring countries, which, based on the premise of adhering to the sustainable development of the ecological environment in transnational regions, elaborates on the history, content, and models of economic cooperation between ethnic regions and neighboring countries, and explores how border trade can truly support the sustainable economic development of ethnic regions. This book is the research outcome of the key-supported project "Border Trade and Economic Sustainable Development in Ethnic Regions" by the National Civil Affairs Commission of China.
