It includes special essays, cultural differences and institutional change, regional economics and western development, human capital and education models, ecological economics and environmental applications, local governments and capital markets, rural poverty and income gaps, and other extensive content, making it a new collection of achievements in the study of China's western economy.
Academic institutions such as the Ningxia Academy of Social Sciences, the China Association of Economists in the U.S., and the Rural Development Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences were the organizers of the conference and provided support for the compilation of the papers. Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Dean of the Earth Institute at Columbia University in the U.S. and a renowned economist, and Du Ping, Director of the State Council's Western Development Office, wrote the prefaces for the book. This book includes research findings from many renowned economists and young researchers both domestically and internationally in both Chinese and English.
