Pregnant 28 weeks, very active fetal movement

Patient's question:

My partner is already 28 weeks pregnant. I want to ask: sometimes the fetal movement is very strong, and at other times it feels almost non-existent. Is it normal for the fetal movement to change so dramatically? Is it related to factors such as the mother's posture?

Doctor's answer:

Starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, count fetal movements three times a day (morning, noon, and evening) while lying in bed, with each session lasting 1 hour. Sum the counts and multiply by 4 to obtain the 12-hour fetal movement count. Normal is defined as ≥30 movements in 12 hours or ≤3 movements per hour.
