Features: Zhao Mengfu (1254-1322), styled Zi'ang, styled Songxue Daoren, styled Shuijing Gong Daoren, was a native of Huzhou (now Wuxing, Zhejiang), also known as Zhao Wuxing. He was a member of the imperial family of the Song Dynasty. After the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, he served as a Hanlin Academician and held other positions, and was enfeoffed as Duke of Wei and posthumously honored as "Wenmin." He was renowned for his calligraphy and painting, excelling in all styles, with a round and elegant script known as the "Zhao Style." He authored the Songxue Zhai Collection. The Stele of Dan Ba is a typical work of the Zhao Style, fully embodying its charm and spirit. If compared with other styles, we would have a clearer understanding of the inner essence and characteristics of the Zhao Style.
