Features: This book is divided into three parts, totaling fourteen chapters. Part I is the General Theory Section, which elaborates on the connotation of border trade from two aspects: the definition of border trade and the relevant provisions of the World Trade Organization on border trade. It focuses on theoretically explaining the relationship between border trade and the sustainable development of the ecological environment in ethnic regions. Additionally, it discusses the international economic and ecological impacts in border trade from perspectives such as the negative externalities of economic globalization, green trade barriers, the ecological economic benefits of international investment in ethnic regions, and subregional economic cooperation. Part II is the Current Situation and Development Strategy Research Section for Border Trade in Various Regions, which conducts empirical studies on the border trade development in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, Guangxi, Tibet, Yunnan, and Jilin, respectively. Based on these studies, it clarifies the development status of border trade in each region, analyzes its characteristics and existing problems, and proposes ideas and countermeasures for developing border trade from the perspective of sustainable ecological development in ethnic regions. Part III is the Research Section on Regional Economic Cooperation between Ethnic Regions and Neighboring Countries, which focuses on the surrounding international regions where each ethnic region is located. With the basic principle of adhering to the sustainable development of the ecological environment across transnational regions, it elaborates on the history, content, and models of regional economic cooperation between ethnic regions and neighboring countries. It also explores how border trade can truly support the sustainable economic development of ethnic regions. This book is the research outcome of the key-supported project "Border Trade and the Sustainable Economic Development of Ethnic Regions" by the National Civil Affairs Commission.
