Almost everyone in their heart harbors a hidden passion: waking up on a dewy morning, packing their bags, and setting off like a minstrel or a solitary ghost. Drifting through the vast, uncharted stars, where they are either passionate or indifferent, lush or desolate, unknown to anyone. Without purpose, without a destination, their inner home is always elsewhere, and their restless soul is always on the road — Zhong Wei
Not everyone follows the conventional boundaries recognized by mainstream culture. Acts of breaking these boundaries — including thoughts and language — are often labeled as "rebellious" by the masses, while those unconstrained by mainstream values also have their own conventional definitions — "outsiders." I dare not claim to be rebellious, nor am I an outsider; I am merely a "minority."
In my personal understanding, whether it is rebellion or being an outsider, the essence of it lies in the conflict between the group or the individual and traditional concepts as well as mainstream society. The minority, however, expresses not conflict but difference — a difference from the majority's thinking.
"As the saying goes, 'There were no paths at first; as more people walked, they became paths.'" The same applies to thoughts and ideas. The majority treads the main roads, while the minority treads the lesser paths. The difference between the lesser and the main roads is divergence, not conflict.
From the perspective of choices in thought and culture, if both the "main roads" and the "lesser paths" are viable, it is enough to prove that this is a free and expansive world. There is no need for rebellion or subversion. "Without Restriction" simply speaks in a very calm voice: beside the of humanistic spirit, we can actually enjoy freedom and desires without restraint.
