The original book is stored in the Imperial Palace and is a fine handwritten copy from the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, with excellent quality and high version value. In ancient China, there was a school of Feng Shui known as the Form Method, with many books, but they all focused on finding dragons, capturing veins, setting points and directions, and identifying auspicious and inauspicious sand formations. The discussion on water shapes and methods, as well as their goodness or badness, was merely touched upon briefly and often added as a postscript (such as the "Ping Sha Yu Chi Jing" published by our press). However, this book focuses specifically on the form and qi of water, explaining that water shapes have differences such as winding, returning, encircling, slanting, straight rushing, reversing, and coming and going, as well as combining and separating. It also explores the origins of water's form and qi from the perspective of Liqi Tianxing, directions, and drinking shapes, which all reflect the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of water's form and qi. The original book provides detailed discussions on various methods of identifying water and setting up layouts for Yin and Yang houses, with illustrations and descriptions. The editor has also added a few additional illustrations based on the needs of the explanations, hoping to make it clearer how ancient people actually selected sites for Yin and Yang houses. This book is a classic work on the study of the Water Dragon. The Art of Divination contains a vast and diverse range of content, and it has been misunderstood for a long time. To help readers gain a comprehensive and correct understanding of the Art of Divination, this series has invited relevant experts to write two prefaces. The first preface primarily clarifies the position of the Art of Divination in traditional Chinese culture, while the second preface primarily answers the question: What is the Art of Divination?
