Features: With the comprehensive revival of Buddhism in China and the rapid rise of the tourism market, a variety of Buddhist temples, scenic guides, manuals, as well as series and dictionaries have been flourishing and emerging one after another. This book covers both origins and categories comprehensively, not only evoking nostalgia but also providing knowledge, aiding tourism, and benefiting pilgrimage, serving as a reading resource for all. "In ancient times, many Buddhist monks toiled hard, managed diligently, and meticulously cultivated vast fields, towering trees, tranquil environments, and beautiful temples, adorning our country's splendid landscapes." It is precisely like this—Puyuan, Mount Wutai, Mount Emei, and Mount Jiuhua, each a famous mountain; White Horse Temple, Qixia Temple, Xuanzhong Temple, Guqing Temple, Lingyin Temple, Yuwang Temple, Tianjong Temple, and Donglin Temple, countless ancient temples, in serene and quiet surroundings, where the bell tolls at dawn and the chanting of Buddhist hymns echoes. Added to this are a series of natural and cultural attractions that have drawn countless scholars, literati, and wandering souls. Currently, it is a time to implement the Party's policy of religious freedom and vigorously develop the tourism industry. Many ancient temples and monasteries have been reopened, attracting countless domestic and foreign devotees and tourists. While visiting these temples, they often encounter questions, such as why the main gate of a temple is often built with three gates, why the Four Heavenly Kings do not appear as amiable as other statues, what different postures of Buddha statues represent, and so on. Visitors often speculate wildly without understanding the answers, and even some professional guides are left speechless, eventually just smiling and giving up. Due to my professional background, I frequently visit temples and have seen such scenes many times. Occasionally, I discussed this with fellow practitioners in the Buddhist community and received their encouragement—why not write a small book introducing this knowledge? Thus, without overestimating my abilities, I compiled this book and dedicate it to all my readers.
