Features: The editors initiated the th European-Asian International Symposium in Nantes, France, in 1994. The idea was to bring together scholars from around the world who were interested in the economic growth and business opportunities in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas. It also served as a forum, essentially providing scholars with a platform to present new research findings and exchange thoughts. The symposium was a great success and quickly became an annual event, held successively in France, Ireland, Norway, Japan, and China since 1994. In addition to the conference proceedings, selected articles from the symposium proceedings have been published in five international conference anthologies, a special issue of an international academic journal, and numerous articles in academic journals both domestically and internationally. The 11th European-Asian International Symposium was held from May 19 to 21, 2005, at Nanchang University in China. The articles selected for this volume are based on the papers presented at this symposium. It can be noted that the theme of this year's annual meeting focuses on China. However, articles on Europe or the Asia-Pacific region have also been included to broaden the perspective, along with articles on issues related to other countries (e.g., Japan, France, the Czech Republic, etc.). It is worth mentioning that to reach a broader global readership, some content in this volume is written in three languages—English, French, and Chinese—a unique feature in publishing history!
